Port Aventura
Port Aventura
Portaventura World Spain - by James
Yes, another theme park believe it or not. I will try and summarize it as much as I can but it was just so cool considering it’s a theme park doing its bear minimin while it's for sale. Get ready for our experience at Portaventura.
Portaventura has three different parks one of which is a waterpark which wasn’t open the time we were there.
We did a lucky dip on which hotel at the park we were going to stay at. We got El Paso, which is a Mexican theme and had an amazing buffet breakfast.
On the first night we were there we decided to use that time to enter Ferrari Land which is the other smaller theme park out of the other two and only opens at night. The main attraction here is the iconic Red Force. A roller coaster which launches from 0 to 180km in just 5 seconds and goes up to a height of 112 meters. ( I sadly lost my phone at the top cause it fell out of my pocket, but somehow one day after that we got it back without a scratch). There's some other rides here that we got to do such as a drop tower and go karts, but everything had giant queues.
The main Park has a bunch of different areas such as Western, Islands, Asia, Mexico, Mediteranian, and Sesame Street.
In China there's two big coasters, Dragon Khan and Shambala. Shambala is huge and just has a bunch of drops which was a lot of fun. Dragon Khan just has a lot of inversions (going upside downy’s). There's also some other smaller rides that we got to do.
The western area has three big coasters, two water rides, and other smaller rides. Uncharted is one of the big coasters. It's completely indoors and it's a multi dimension coaster (super complex and the cart has controlled spinning).
The other two coasters are Stampida and Tomahawk which are both wood. Stampida’s races two trains and Tomahawk is just a smaller version.
The water rides are just a log flume that gets you soaked and a river rapids.
The island just has a pirate ship ride and a log flume which was a lot of fun.
Mexico has one ginormous drop tower and when you drop down it feels like your soul is leaving your body. A couple other fun rides and a confusing mirror maze. Also we don’t actually know which land this ride is in but I'll put it here anyway. It's a fun run away minetrain style ride called El Diablo, it was lots of fun.
The Mediterranean has only one ride which is Furious Bako, a LSM launched wing coaster / a launched coaster and you hang off the sides of the ride. And this shook our heads a lot.
Sesame Street was the kiddie land of the park with a lot of small rides as well as an indoor ride were your a detective with a flash light to point at cookie crumbs to gain points and to get one step closer to who ever stole the world's largest cookie (spoiler, it was the Cookie monster)
Over all lots of fun, the queues were long, and there was some graffiti scattered here and there but that can’t stop us from having a bunch of fun. Thanks for reading. Bye!!!
